A Comissão Europeia anunciou um plano de medidas para combater as novas variantes do SARS-CoV-2, o HERA Incubator: Anticipating together the threat of COVID-19 variants. No âmbito deste plano incluem-se 120 milhões de euros para projetos de I&I nas seguintes áreas:
Infraestruturas
It foresees to further fund the development of infrastructure for open data sharing and infrastructure services for rapid response to epidemics, especially for detection and assessment of variants.
Cluster Saúde
It will also provide further support for the development of large scale, international/worldwide COVID-19 cohorts, and the conduct of vaccine and therapeutic trials, as well as observational studies, to further inform public health policy and clinical management.
